TEVEO

2023

01 ABOUT

Te Veo is a performing arts association based in Spain that focuses on children and young people, with the aim of promoting disciplines such as theater, dance, music, and other forms of artistic expression. Their work centers on encouraging creativity, participation, and cultural development from an early age.

For this project, they required a poster to represent their annual gathering, with the key requirement that it clearly conveyed both youth and the world of performing arts. The design needed to feel dynamic, expressive, and accessible, reflecting the energy of young performers while also capturing the diversity and richness of the artistic disciplines brought together at the event.

03 DEVELOPMENT PROCESS

I began this project by working from an image of a close friend dancing, using her hands in a graceful and expressive manner. This gesture instantly conveyed a strong sense of youth, movement, and rhythm, and became the conceptual starting point of the poster. The human body is one of the most powerful vehicles for artistic expression, and rather than depicting the full figure, I chose to isolate a specific part of it. By building the composition around the hands, I was able to highlight emotion, musicality, and narrative through movement, ensuring they functioned as the central visual focus.

Typography was a fundamental element in shaping the visual identity of the piece. I designed a custom typeface specifically for this project, drawing inspiration from fluid forms and curved lines that naturally reference dance and motion. To achieve consistency across all characters, I developed a circular grid system that defined the proportions and structure of each letter. This process resulted in a cohesive, bespoke alphabet created exclusively for the poster, including numerical characters to display the year of the event.

Color played a key role in reinforcing the overall concept and emotional tone of the design. I selected a vibrant and energetic palette that reflects the passion, creativity, and expressive intensity young artists bring to their work. These colors enhance the sense of movement and vitality within the composition, while complementing both the dynamic imagery and the expressive nature of the custom typography.
